Welcome to Breath of Zen. I’m Liz/Iz Ross (she/they). I believe that each breath is a choice and a beginning, an opportunity to release tension in your body. As a practitioner, I often have to remind people to breath as our subconscious reaction is to hold our breath or tension as a reaction or in anticipation of the unexpected. I encourage people to remember the importance of breathing during treatments and how it helps to breathe into the placement of my hands or when I say ‘Breathe in, and Breathe out’. I want you to relax and leave my treatments feeling like you are in a state of Zen.
I have my masters in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine Specialization from AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine with my AOBTA certification, CNT certification, and CPR certificate.
My undergraduate degree was in theatre performance and production. I am still active in the theatre community strongly advocating for accessibility and accommodations for people disabilities. I am a major healthcare and disability advocate. I am a guardian for my father who has stage 7 dementia so I deeply understand hard choices and the toll stress or medical conditions can have on your body.
I also love to garden, have 2 cats and 1 dog.
I currently offer Tui-Na, Gua-Sha, Cupping, and Herbal Medicine treatments. I look forward to working with you. More information about each treatment is below.
My services
Tui - na
Tuina - literally “push and grasp”—is one of the oldest healing modalities in TCM, practiced for over 2,000 years. It involves manual manipulation of muscles, joints, and meridians to restore balance in the body’s qi (vital energy). Intensity and treatment is person specific.
I will use my hands along with oil or lotion in various ways to work directly with your body. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing that you can easily remove in your appointment and change back into post treatment.
Gua - sha
It is an ancient healing method involving scraping the skins surface with a smooth edged tool to break up fascia in areas of muscle tension, to improve circulation and regulate qi(energy) flow.
Cupping
It is an ancient healing method using cups to suction your skin to break up the fascia, reduce muscle tension, and regulate qi (energy). It is an individual treatment or an add on to a treatment.
